Audit errors, decoded.

The blue text in a GO-IEP audit message names the section that needs correcting. Below: what the common ones actually mean, how to fix each, and the official page to verify.

Present Level Areas of Need OR Accommodations – State Testing and Student Supports

Cause: Accommodations exist on the State Testing page and/or Student Supports page, but the need hasn't been indicated on the Present Levels page.

Fix: On the Present Levels page, check the accommodations box for the relevant area of need. Checking the box passes the audit. Justifying each accommodation in that area-of-need text box makes it compliant. If an accommodation isn't needed, delete it instead.

Open progress reports from the previous IEP

Cause: GO-IEP never auto-closes prior-IEP progress reports. A new IEP or amendment can't finalize while any remain open.

Fix: First verify the meeting date (amendment notices copy the parent IEP's date; change it). Then finalize or inactivate each open report, in sequential date order. Past the halfway point of the frequency period, finalize is the only option. Before halfway, open the report from the Progress Reports dashboard and select Inactivate at the bottom.

Amendment without a formal meeting: parent not marked present

Cause: For an agreed no-meeting amendment, GO-IEP still asks who attended. If the parent isn't marked present, the audit fires because services would start before the parent was notified of changes.

Fix: Mark the parent(s) as attending. They're equally involved in the amendment decisions, just like the special education and general education teachers. That clears the audit.

Initial Eligibility: audit warning at Audit/Finalize

Cause: The Initial Evaluation completion date hasn't been entered on the Timeline page.

Fix: Enter the evaluation completion date in its box on the Timeline page, then run Audit/Finalize again.

ESY goal / ESY decision mismatch

Cause: A goal is marked as an ESY goal, but the IEP's ESY decision and services don't match. An ESY goal requires the ESY decision to be yes and an ESY service in the IEP.

Fix: Align all three: the goal's ESY flag, the ESY decision, and an ESY service. Or unmark the goal if ESY isn't being offered.
